Welcome to the Churchill State School Website. I am delighted to introduce our wonderful school to you. As our school was established in 1923, we have an extended history of excellence with members of our community being proud of the achievements of our staff and students.
We endeavour to ensure that Churchill State School is a welcoming school: a place where children enjoy coming to learn; a place where all children, staff and parents truly feel they belong and are valued for the contributions they make to our very special school community.
At Churchill State School we strive to provide a high quality academic program which recognises and values high achievement in Literacy and Numeracy and also develops each student's creativity, decision making and problem solving skills. A range of programs exist in our school which assist students with an appropriate level of support.
We endeavour to equip our students for a life long educational journey in an ever changing global community.
Our students live mostly in the local communities of Churchill, Winston Glades, and Yamanto, while we also have a number of families from Amberley RAAF base enrolled.
The upgrades to our Resource Centre and our Hall are wonderful additions to the school's facilities. Churchill State School has one of the best ovals in the district, allowing us to offer a wide range of sports.
Churchill State School aims to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students and staff. An effective whole-school Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program allows us to reward appropriate behaviour and manage inappropriate behaviour so that our core business, teaching and learning, can be optimised for the benefit of all students.
Once again, welcome to Churchill State School: the school of champions.
Mr Tyrone Bruce
